Screen

Screen: This is an interview engagement method. A person can use this tool to identify a person’s needs, assess skills, or gather information to inform decision making. Plan: This is a method used to create a list of task actions a person must accomplish to achieve his or her goals and objectives. A person can use this tool to coordinate, match, and manage progress toward attaining the goals defined in the plan. Planning involves taking time to strategically outline a set of actions that a person should take to be successful.

Recruit

Recruit: This is an active engagement method used to solicit participation in an activity. Recruiting requires a participatory attitude and a willingness to socialize with others.

Examples

  • Broaching a conversation with another person you don’t know.
  • Inviting friends, family, colleagues, peers, a person you don’t know to attend an event or participate in an activity.
  • Solicit prospective candidates for a job, enroll in training, sell something, or to do something.

Schedule

Schedule: This is a coordination and time management method. A person can use this tool to coordinate activities, schedule appointments, and openly initiate informal and formal communication.

  • Coordinate various activities for one or more people to participate, attend, or complete an important action.
  • Schedule an appointment to engage in a working session or some other activity with a peer or mentee.
